Welcome to the Central Opening Doors Conference

this year's theme:
No One Left Behind
Tue, september 24, 2019

Our theme “No One Left Behind” draws from the U=U message that by achieving and maintaining an undetectable viral load (less than 200 copies/ml of blood), HIV cannot be transmitted sexually. However, it is our responsibility to ensure that not only is the U=U message heard and understood, but also that everyone who needs it has access to HIV testing, treatment, care and support so they can be helped to achieve an undetectable viral load. Our conference will address the challenges or barriers to accessing and maintaining treatment as prescribed, and discuss strategies by which we can overcome these.

Central Opening Doors is an annual conference that provides participants from Simcoe/Muskoka, Peel and York regions the opportunity to strengthen and update their HIV-related knowledge and skills. The conference is of interest to: HIV/Hep C/STBBI and sexual health professionals, immigration & settlement workers, physicians, nurses, midwives, social workers, outreach workers, educators, university faculty and students, community activists and volunteers. Everyone is welcome!
